What can create streaking, uneven tan lines, and barriers on your skin? There are several factors that can cause streaking, uneven tan lines, and barriers on your skin. Some of the most common reasons are: Not exfoliating properly before the tan: Dead skin cells on the surface of your skin can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution. It is essential to exfoliate your skin properly before getting an airbrush tan to remove any dead skin cells. Moisturizing before the tan: Moisturizing your skin before getting an airbrush tan can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution, leading to uneven tan lines. Avoid using any moisturizers, lotions, or oils before the tan. Sweating: Sweating during and after the tanning process can create streaks and uneven tan lines. It is best to avoid any physical activity that can make you sweat for at least 8 hours after the tan.

Avoid using lotion, deodorant or perfume on the day of your appointment. These products can create a barrier between your skin and the tanning solution, resulting in streaks or uneven coloring.
